Oxytocin Nasal Spray
Everything You Need to Know
Oxytocin is a peptide hormone produced naturally in the hypothalamus. Intranasal delivery allows it to reach the brain more efficiently than injection for non-obstetric uses — making nasal spray the preferred clinical delivery method.
- Reduces Social Anxiety — May reduce discomfort in social settings and increase social engagement.
- Enhances Empathy & Emotional Sensitivity — Improves recognition of emotional cues and supports stronger pair-bonding.
- Stress Reduction & Calm — Supports a calm nervous system response in supportive contexts.
- PTSD & Emotional Processing — Being studied for fear response modulation and trauma recovery as an adjunct to therapy.
- Appetite & Weight Management — Some protocols use it for satiety signaling and craving reduction.
- Sexual Health & Bonding — Studied for libido, arousal support, and emotional connection in relationships.

What It Does
Six Reasons Clinicians Recommend Oxytocin
A naturally occurring peptide hormone produced in the hypothalamus — delivered via nasal spray for direct nose-to-brain transport. Effects are highly context-dependent and work best in calm, supportive settings.
Reduces Social Anxiety
May reduce discomfort in social settings and increase social engagement — supporting calmer, more confident interactions in situations that would otherwise feel overwhelming or exhausting.
Enhances Empathy & Emotional Sensitivity
Improves the ability to read and respond to emotional cues — supporting more empathetic, attuned interactions and stronger pair-bonding and caregiving motivation in appropriate contexts.
Stress Reduction & Calm
Supports stress reduction and a sense of calm in supportive contexts — modulating the body's stress response and promoting a more grounded emotional state. Most effective when used in low-stress, positive social environments.
PTSD & Emotional Processing Support
Being studied for its role in fear response modulation and emotional processing — with emerging evidence supporting its use as an adjunct to therapy for PTSD, phobias, and trauma-related social withdrawal.
Appetite & Weight Management Support
Some protocols incorporate oxytocin for its role in satiety signaling — potentially supporting appetite regulation and craving reduction as part of a broader metabolic or weight management program under physician supervision.
Sexual Health & Relationship Bonding
Studied for libido and arousal support in both men and women — and for its role in strengthening emotional trust and connection within intimate relationships. Also supports milk ejection for breastfeeding when natural oxytocin is insufficient.
Important: Effects Are Context-Dependent
Oxytocin is often called the "love hormone" but it functions more like a social magnifying glass — in calm, supportive settings it enhances connection and comfort; in stressful or ambiguous situations it can increase anxiety or hypersensitivity. For best results, use in positive social contexts as directed by your physician.

The Science
How Oxytocin Works Inside Your Body
Intranasal delivery allows oxytocin to reach the brain more efficiently than injection for non-obstetric uses — transporting the peptide directly via olfactory pathways, bypassing the blood-brain barrier.
Proper Nasal Administration
Clear your nose gently and wash your hands before use. Tilt your head slightly forward — not back — to prevent throat runoff. Insert the nozzle just into the nostril without pushing deep, close the opposite nostril with a finger, and spray while inhaling slowly through the open nostril. Do not blow your nose for 10 to 15 minutes after administration to allow full mucosal absorption.
Direct Nose-to-Brain Transport
Oxytocin is a large peptide that cannot effectively cross the blood-brain barrier through the bloodstream. The nasal route solves this — delivering the peptide along olfactory and perivascular pathways directly into the central nervous system, achieving brain concentrations that oral or standard IV routes cannot replicate for non-obstetric applications.
Limbic System Activation & Social Processing
Once in the brain, oxytocin binds to receptors in the limbic system — modulating the amygdala's fear response, enhancing activity in circuits governing empathy and social recognition, and reducing activation of threat-detection pathways. This is the mechanism behind its effects on social anxiety, trust, and emotional attunement.
Context Shapes the Outcome
Oxytocin amplifies the social environment you're already in — it does not create positive feelings independently. In calm, safe, supportive contexts it enhances connection, trust, and calm. In stressful or ambiguous situations it can amplify anxiety or hypersensitivity. Timing and setting matter as much as dose. Follow your physician's protocol and use in appropriate contexts for best results.
Why Lavi MD
Not All Peptide Brands Are Equal
Most peptide suppliers prioritize volume over patients. We were built differently — by a physician, for patients.

How We Operate
Built by a Physician, Not a Marketing Team
Lavi MD was founded under physician supervision. Every formulation, every dose, every protocol is reviewed by Dr. Moulavi before it reaches a patient — not outsourced to a contract manufacturer with no clinical input.
We Limit Shipping Days to Protect Your Product
We only ship Monday and Tuesday. That's a deliberate decision — it ensures your order arrives before the weekend and never sits in a carrier facility over two days without refrigeration. Most brands don't think that far ahead.
We Treat You Like a Patient, Not an Order Number
Our team includes clinical staff who understand what you're taking and why. If something goes wrong with your order — a warm shipment, a missing component, a question about your protocol — we fix it. No automated runaround.

Before You Use Your Nasal Spray
Your spray ships in two parts. Take 60 seconds to assemble before first use.
Check Your Package Contents
Your nasal spray ships in two parts: the bottle and the pump mechanism. Both are inside the box, protected by the inner packaging. Do not discard anything until you have located both pieces.
⚠️ Do not throw away any packaging until you have fully assembled your spray.
Remove the Protective Cap From the Pump
Locate the pump mechanism inside the box. It will have a small protective cap covering the nozzle tip. Remove it and set it aside — you will reuse it to seal the spray between doses.
Attach the Pump to the Bottle
Insert the pump stem into the top of the bottle and press down firmly until it clicks into place and sits flush with the bottle neck. The pump should feel secure and not wobble.
Prime Before First Use
Hold the bottle upright and depress the pump 3 to 5 times until a fine mist appears. This purges any air from the stem. Your spray is now ready to use.
⚠️ Prime into a tissue — not toward yourself or others.
Replace the Cap and Refrigerate
After each use, replace the protective cap over the nozzle. Refrigeration is required. Store upright in your refrigerator away from strong odors. Do not freeze.
Recommended Usage
Use only as directed by your prescribing physician. Most protocols call for 1 to 2 sprays per nostril once daily. Do not exceed the recommended dose without consulting your provider.
If anything appears to be missing from your order, do not discard the packaging. Contact support@lavimd.com and we will make it right.
